William G. Marsden

Bill Marsden's primary area of professional focus is commercial litigation, with emphasis on loan enforcement, real and personal property foreclosures, equipment leasing litigation and commercial and agricultural workouts. He has represented national and local banks, equipment lessors, real estate developers and retail businesses ranging from steel suppliers to printing facilities.

Admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in Utah, as well as the United States Supreme Court, the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and the United States Tax Court, Mr. Marsden has participated in trial and appellate litigation ranging from bankruptcy cases to corporate disputes. An advocate of alternative dispute resolution, he has served clients in mediation and arbitration proceedings and in negotiations such as complex asset divisions in divorce situations, damage determinations in lease disputes, and resolutions of architectural copyright infringement actions. His recent experience as general counsel for ACC Capital Corporation, a nationally prominent equipment lessor, has added new dimensions to his practice, including corporate advice, employment considerations and the negotiation and documentation of personal property leasing transactions.

Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Marsden received a B.A. degree in English, with highest honors, from Brigham Young University in 1973. He obtained a J.D. degree, with honors, from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1976, where he served on the editorial board of BYU Legal Studies.

Mr. Marsden initially joined Prince Yeates in 1999 after 23 years with other Salt Lake firms. His professional affiliations include memberships in the Utah State Bar, the Utah Bankruptcy Lawyers' Forum and the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. He has served on the Alumni Board of the BYU Law School.

An outdoor enthusiast, Mr. Marsden is active in scouting and youth sports coaching. He is fluent in Spanish.
